Fleur · Stone medallions

Honey-gold lilies, slate-blue lobes and dusty-rose stone, encircled by a two-color braid. A study inspired by a decorative floor mosaic.

The construction

Fourfold medallions repeat inside {8,3} octagonal cells. Hand-drawn symmetric lilies and inset stone courses are transformed together by the existing hyperbolic motif engine.

About this study

Photo-inspired prototype, not an exact tracing. The full medallion repeats; the rose spaces between circles are intentional. The braid is vector ribbonwork, while the interior has lightly varied stone joints.
